Occupational Therapist Role

Employer: Advanced Home Health Services

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' functional capabilities and living conditions to determine needs and formulate therapeutic strategies.
  • Instruct patients in acquiring new skills or re-learning daily tasks impacted by health conditions.
  • Guide patients in the utilization of assistive devices and provide training on prosthetic and orthotic equipment.
  • Oversee and assess the performance of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants.
  • Engage in planning for patient discharge to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and collaborate with the healthcare team for integrated patient care.
  • Recognize the needs of patients and their families for supplementary services.

Qualifications Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited program in occupational therapy.
  • Registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
  • A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in occupational therapy.
  • Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license.

Essential Skills:

  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capable of managing the physical demands of the role, including lifting and moving items.
  • Adept at functioning in varied environments and addressing the challenges inherent to the position.
