Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' functional capabilities and living conditions to determine needs and formulate therapeutic strategies.
- Instruct patients in acquiring new skills or re-learning daily tasks impacted by health conditions.
- Guide patients in the utilization of assistive devices and provide training on prosthetic and orthotic equipment.
- Oversee and assess the performance of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants.
- Engage in planning for patient discharge to ensure smooth transitions.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and collaborate with the healthcare team for integrated patient care.
- Recognize the needs of patients and their families for supplementary services.
Qualifications Required:
- Graduation from an accredited program in occupational therapy.
- Registered with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
- A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in occupational therapy.
- Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license.
Essential Skills:
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capable of managing the physical demands of the role, including lifting and moving items.
- Adept at functioning in varied environments and addressing the challenges inherent to the position.
