Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Dietary Aide to join our team at Menorah Park. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a vital role in preparing therapeutic desserts and salads, serving meals in the main kitchen, and assisting with meal service setup.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare therapeutic desserts and salads as required
  • Serve meals in the main kitchen
  • Assist with meal service setup in the main kitchen
  • Clearing tables, washing dishes, and cleaning tables on various resident care floors
  • Transport hot and cold foods to and from the main kitchen to the resident care areas
  • Transport all required non-food items to and from the health center pantries and resident care areas
  • Wash silver, glass, china in dish machine in main kitchen as per regulation
  • Provide floor stock, snacks, and supplements per diet orders
  • Maintain stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines in dining rooms
  • Maintain work stations in clean, organized, and in proper order
  • Take orders, provide service, and requested items both graciously and courteously
  • Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service
  • Answer pertinent questions about menu items
  • Ensure that meal tray accurately matches the meal ticket
  • Maintain kosher regulations and requirements as per policy
Requirements
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions
  • Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not required
  • Ability to plan, organize, and set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor, and peers. Requires empathy for the elderly
