Job Title: Family Advocate

At Talladega Clay Randolph Child Care, we are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Family Advocate to join our team. As a Family Advocate, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being and development of our young children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist families in completing enrollment applications and acquiring necessary documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and up-to-date files for enrolled children.
  • Recruit and recommend children for enrollment, ensuring a diverse and inclusive waiting list.
  • Monitor and document daily attendance, supporting families to promote regular attendance.
  • Maintain close communication with the Family Services Coordinator and complete tasks within allotted timeframes.
  • Greet families, initiate relationships, and assist with parent meetings and activities.
  • Collaborate with families to ensure health, dental, and immunization requirements are met.
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with health and disabilities managers, nutrition managers, and other professionals.
  • Complete Individualized Family Assessments and Family Partnership agreements.
  • Council parents, conduct home visits, and establish community partnerships to support family needs.
  • Assist with implementing Head Start Parent and Family Engagement Outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, or related field, with 2 years of work experience in a related area.
  • Knowledge of Windows and applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with parents, employees, and other professionals.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of low-income families and multicultural beliefs and practices.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Attention to detail with accurate record-keeping skills.

Physical Abilities:

  • Must be physically able to lift up to 50 Lbs. repetitively, bend, and stoop in the care of young children throughout the workday.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel to any of the program's centers in Talladega, Clay, Randolph, Coosa, Calhoun, and Cleburne Counties.

  • After successful completion of the 3-month probationary period, employee will be offered benefits and regular employment status.
