Role Summary:
The Lead Clinical RN collaborates with clinical personnel, physicians, and advanced practitioners to coordinate staff, equipment, and resources, ensuring efficient daily operations. This role focuses on enhancing patient care and guiding the clinical team in their daily responsibilities. The position encompasses oversight of RNs, LPNs, and potentially MAs, depending on the practice structure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care Management: Facilitate patient check-in, document chief complaints, vital signs, and medical history. Administer injections and medications as directed, and manage laboratory and imaging requisitions. Ensure effective communication with patients and healthcare providers for follow-up care.
2. Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial stability, patient experience, operational efficiency, and employee satisfaction.
3. Clinical Expertise: Serve as a clinical resource for staff, demonstrating expertise and providing guidance.
4. Inventory Oversight: Monitor and order medical supplies as necessary, ensuring availability for clinical operations.
5. Staff Management: Handle PTO requests and maintain appropriate staffing levels.
6. Workflow Optimization: Develop and implement guidelines for prioritizing tasks and evaluate their effectiveness.
7. Staff Development: Mentor and train clinical staff to enhance their skills and improve patient satisfaction.
8. Collaboration: Work with management and human resources on hiring, performance evaluations, and team development.
9. Workflow Efficiency: Assess clinical workflows, address inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions to meet KPIs.
10. Team Meetings: Conduct regular meetings with staff to review clinical performance and implement improvement plans.
11. Patient Satisfaction: Utilize feedback to create targeted strategies for enhancement.
12. Issue Resolution: Proactively address concerns with management as needed.
13. Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Graduate from an accredited nursing program
* Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience
* Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
* Valid RN License (CT or NY based on Practice Location)
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
* Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions:
* Generally pleasant working environment with minimal physical demands.
* Essential functions may require light physical effort.
