Estimated Salary: $1,876/35-hours (Travel) or $1,848/35-hours (Local)
About the RoleThis contract/travel position requires a valid and active Physical Therapy State license, as well as CPR and BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross (with AED).
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, reviewing medical histories and collaborating with healthcare colleagues to understand patient needs.
- Treatment Implementation: Develop tailored treatment plans based on assessments, establishing specific goals for rehabilitation or recovery.
- Exercise Program Design: Design and implement customized exercise programs to improve strength, flexibility, endurance, and coordination.
- Manual Techniques: Use hands-on techniques for mobility enhancement and pain relief, including joint mobilization, soft tissue manipulation, and manual stretching.
- Modalities: Apply modalities like ultrasound, electrical stimulation, heat, and cold therapy to ease pain, reduce inflammation, and aid tissue healing.
- Assistive Device Training: Provide guidance on the use of assistive devices (e.g., crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs) to improve mobility.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and injury prevention related to body mechanics and ergonomics.
- Pain Management: Develop pain management strategies, including therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual techniques for pain reduction.
- Independence Restoration: Assist patients in regaining independence after surgery, injury, or illness to enhance their quality of life.
- Progress Monitoring: Continuously assess and document patient progress toward rehabilitation goals, adapting treatment plans as needed.
- Clinical Collaboration: Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, including physicians, nurses, and OTs, to optimize patient care.
- Home Exercise Programs: Provide personalized home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery.
- Patient Records: Keep accurate patient records, documenting assessments, treatments, progress notes, and changes in the patient's condition.
- Licensure and Certification: Valid and active Physical Therapy State license, CPR and BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross (with AED).
