Primary Duties:
The following outlines the essential duties and responsibilities:
- Clinical Responsibilities:
Engage in patient care planning and assist with various treatments and nursing procedures as directed. Recognize emergencies and initiate appropriate measures by alerting the supervising nurse. Provide fundamental nursing services under the guidance of a licensed physician or registered nurse, including:
- Preparing examination rooms and assisting medical professionals during physical assessments and minor surgical procedures.
- Explaining medical procedures to patients and ensuring all necessary equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
- Managing patient communications, including scheduling appointments and directing patients to the appropriate medical units for urgent care.
- Collecting and documenting vital patient data, recognizing normal and abnormal conditions, and reporting findings to the supervising RN or physician.
- Administering immunizations and maintaining accurate immunization records.
- Diagnostic Procedures and Equipment Management:
Utilize and operate medical equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, and infusion pumps. Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures by preparing necessary supplies and ensuring patient safety throughout the process.
- Documentation and Patient Education:
Maintain accurate records of all procedures and observations in the patient's medical file. Promote healthy practices among patients, considering their age, health status, and cultural background. Provide education on the use of mobility aids, medication management, and early disease detection signs.
Qualifications
Eligibility: Open to US Citizens
Licensure: Candidates must hold a current, unrestricted license as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse from a recognized state or territory.
Experience: A minimum of one year of licensed nursing experience is required.
