Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy Services and/or Staff Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician performs a variety of tasks to support the pharmacy team. This includes billing for pharmaceuticals, receiving and stocking department supplies, preparing medications for in-patients and outpatients, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Responsibilities
  1. Oversees pharmaceutical inventory using the PYXIS system and assists with processing patient charges and preparation of medications for dispensing.
  2. Prepares compounds and dispenses medications, and sterile compounds upon physician's orders.
  3. Maintains accurate control substance inventory and selects correct medications and quantities.
  4. Represents and bar codes medications as necessary.
  5. Assists in maintaining appropriate stock levels and supplies reorder information to the Pharmacy Buyer.
Requirements
  • Pharmacy Intern certification
