Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Travel Nurse to join our team at New Ulm Medical Center. As a Labor and Delivery Travel Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to laboring women and their newborns, including triage, assessment, and management of antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician, and perform various medical procedures as needed.
  • Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, and take appropriate action in response to any changes or abnormalities.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
  • BCLS and NRP certifications required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve patient care goals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Work Schedule
  • 3x12 hour night shifts.
  • Every other weekend, possibly every 3rd weekend depending on need.
  • On-call hours do not count towards guaranteed minimum hours.
Unit Specific Information

As a Labor and Delivery Travel Nurse, you will be required to float to units outside of OB to help support patient care. This may include working on the medical/surgical unit, where you will be responsible for providing care to patients who are at risk for harm or require close monitoring. You will also be expected to take vital signs, assist with toileting and re-positioning of patients, and provide general support to the healthcare team.
