We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Elementary Substitute Teacher to join our team at the SANY's Utica Academy of Science Elementary School. As an on-call substitute teacher, you will have the opportunity to work with kindergarten through 5th-grade students and contribute to their academic growth.

**Job Summary**

This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about teaching and making a positive impact on the lives of students. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with preparation and instruction, working closely with small groups of students, and implementing classroom policies and procedures.

**Responsibilities**

- Assist with preparation and instruction in kindergarten through 5th-grade classes

- Work closely with small groups of students to provide intervention and support

- Actively participate in weekly meetings and attend all school-wide events

- Implement classroom policies and procedures

- Lead students to and from specials/lunch

- Effectively manage student behavior

- Perform other related duties as required and assigned

**Requirements**

- Bachelor's degree

- Certification preferred but not required; certification in ELA and Math is a plus

- Experience working with a diverse population of students or in an urban setting is a plus

- Prior teaching experience is preferred, and novice teachers are encouraged to apply

- Fingerprint clearance through the NYS Department of Education
