Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join our team at Freshway Foods. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our production facility, ensuring that all products meet our high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of production employees to achieve daily production targets and goals.
  • Assess employee performance, provide training and coaching, and implement corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensure that all production areas are operating safely and efficiently, and that all employees are following company protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including quality and human resources, to ensure that all aspects of production are meeting company standards.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage department manpower, overtime, and schedule to meet business needs.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees.
  • Verify the readiness of the production line at start-up and supervise change overs.
  • Establish and foster a safety culture and ensure compliance with safe work practices and GMP requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of production experience, with prior experience supervising or leading a staff.
  • Results-oriented, strong attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize activities in a multi-tasked environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • The work environment is cool and wet with temperatures ranging from 34 to 38 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • The physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily asked to stand and walk.
  • Light, periodic lifting will be required.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds and must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced, noisy environment.
