Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver highly specialized psychiatric care autonomously or in conjunction with other healthcare professionals
  • Oversee psychiatric operations, track trends, and propose enhancements
  • Prescribe medications, order and analyze diagnostic tests, provide consultations, and facilitate referrals
  • Engage in quality assurance and performance enhancement initiatives
  • Act as a leader within the patient's recovery team
  • Collaborate with physicians through telehealth platforms
Key Job Functions:

  • Operate within the boundaries of licensure to ensure a therapeutic and secure psychiatric setting
  • Provide both acute and long-term psychiatric care, including regular assessments and necessary referrals
  • Conduct patient rounds, lead Recovery Team Meetings, and act as a liaison with the judicial system
  • Ensure precise and prompt documentation of patient care
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance enhancement initiatives
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of psychiatric/nursing protocols and regulations governing mental health practices
  • Proficiency in interpreting laboratory results and delivering patient care
  • Capability to assess, diagnose, and treat psychiatric conditions
  • Ability to oversee others delivering psychiatric services
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
