EVS Attendant

This position provides a variety of cleaning and service-oriented tasks to maintain the hospital in a sanitary, orderly and aesthetically pleasing condition.

• Clean and sanitize rooms, office areas, and restrooms, removing non-medical and medical waste following universal precautions and guidelines.
• Restore hard floor surfaces, vacuum carpeted floors, and contact nurses' station for discharges/transfers.
• Clean and prepare all environmental surfaces, including furniture, beds, bathroom fixtures, window sills, door frames, vents, walls, televisions, and curtains.
• Dust mop and damp mop patient rooms, hallways, stairs, bathrooms, and offices, and spot clean carpet and furniture.
• Respond to customer requests, follow-up on STAT calls, and fill in for various assignments as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of housekeeping carts, trash carts, break room, supply area, storage, and equipment, and report repairs to appropriate personnel.
• Collect, sort, and transfer recyclable materials, such as paper, newspaper, cardboard, etc.
• Utilize working knowledge of compactor recycling operations.

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting.
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 10 pounds and push up to 50 pounds.
• Exposure to dust, cleaning chemicals, and bloodborne pathogens.

• Ability to attend to more than one aspect of a situation simultaneously.
• Efficiency in processing of verbal information, either in written or spoken form.
• Some independent thought, planning, or origination of options and solutions.
