As a Helicopter Pilot Regional Relief Specialist with Air Methods Pilots, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. This role requires a high level of expertise in aircraft operations, weather conditions, and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
Key Responsibilities- Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, adhering to strict safety protocols and regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight checks to ensure the aircraft is airworthy, verifying the Daily Flight Log and completing a walk-around inspection before each flight.
- Exercise final authority regarding aircraft operations and passenger safety, ensuring the medical flight team is familiar with the aircraft and medical systems.
- Complete required documentation and participate in regular meetings, activities, and community outreach initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience and/or training.
- Commercial pilot's license with instrument rating and multi-engine rating.
- First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate required.
- Ability to maintain a weight not exceeding 250 pounds and be less than 70 years old.
- Visual Flight Rules (VFR) Program requirements, including 2000 total flight hours, 1500 hours in category, and 1000 hours PIC in category.
