Position Overview: The Anesthesia Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting anesthesia providers and collaborating with the interprofessional healthcare team, ensuring optimal patient care throughout various medical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in anesthesia-related procedures and troubleshoot equipment to ensure seamless operations.
  • Set up, operate, and initiate patient monitoring across diverse anesthetizing environments, including operating rooms and intensive care units.
  • Maintain familiarity with anesthesia supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness and proper functioning at all times.

Team Collaboration: Foster a positive work atmosphere by actively engaging with team members, sharing vital patient information, and contributing to problem-solving efforts.

Service Excellence: Perform anesthesia support tasks in various patient care areas, ensuring equipment is set up and calibrated before patient connection.

Quality and Safety: Adhere to infection control standards by cleaning and disinfecting equipment and workspaces between patients. Report incidents promptly to enhance safety protocols.

Financial Responsibility: Ensure efficient organization of anesthesia workstations post-procedure, restocking supplies and maintaining equipment in designated areas.

Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning and participate in committees to enhance skills and contribute to departmental goals.

Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. One year of hospital experience preferred unless certified by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists & Technicians (ASATT).

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory; ASATT certification is preferred.

Skills and Competencies: Demonstrate effective communication, problem-solving abilities, and time management skills while maintaining a customer service focus.
