About the Role

Greenwich House is seeking an Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurse to join our team of healthcare professionals. As an integral part of our Health Services Division, you will be responsible for providing patient care and psychiatric services to individuals in need.

Job Description

  • Clinic Responsibilities:
    • You will provide patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans in accordance with statutes, regulations, and protocols regulating the profession.
    • Collaborate with staff physicians and advanced practice providers, nursing staff, technical personnel, counselors, and outside providers to improve outcomes and care coordination.
    • Provide psychiatric health services, education, individual and group counseling, and assessment, primarily onsite but through telemental health when indicated.
    • Refer patients for inpatient care as necessary.
    • Issue medication prescriptions in accordance with treatment guidelines.
    • Administer injectable medications as clinically indicated.
    • Order laboratory tests, interpret, and explain test results to patients.
    • Communicate with patients and engage in follow-up as necessary.
    • May also provide primary medical care services as indicated, in accordance with statutes, regulations, and protocols regulating the profession.
  • Administration:
    • Complete documentation collaboratively with patients during sessions as the standard.
    • Work within the agency's electronic medical record and paper-free environment.
    • Attend staff meetings.
    • Participate in case conferencing.
    • Provide education on psychiatric disorders and their impact on SUD recovery to staff.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Maintain credentials, Medicaid/Medicare, and Managed Care enrollment.
    • Complete documentation within HSD standards.
    • Participate in incident management when applicable.
  • Other:
    • Perform other duties and special assignments as directed by supervisor.
