Job Title: Surgical Technologist - Hybrid OR
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures. Your expertise in sterile technique, instrument handling, and patient care will be essential in providing high-quality patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
* Assist surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures
* Maintain aseptic technique and ensure a clean and safe operating environment
* Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
* Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the surgical team
* Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective surgical procedures
Requirements:
* 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
* Hybrid OR experience required
* Experience with various specialized procedures, including abdominal aortic aneurysm, endovascular AAA, Carotid Endarterectomy, Fem-pop/Tib bypass, Embolectomy, Aortograms/fistulagrams, AV Fistulas, AV Grafts, TAH, TLH, Vaginal Hysterectomy, Robotic Cases, Laparoscopic Ectopic, D&C, Laparoscopic Cases, Laparotomy, Gastrectomy/Liver resection, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy, Soft Tissue (biopsy, hernia), ECMO (in PICU), Whipple, Colectomy, Abdominal Perineal Resection, Anal Cases, PCNL
* Current/valid Drivers License/State ID or government photo ID required
Schedule Information:
* Split 12: Mon, Tues, Fri
* PV Call required & will call
* First half of the shift will cover breaks, lunches and relief
Unit Specific Information:
* General, Colorectal, GYN, Urology, & other specialty serviced lines
Additional Details:
* Unit does not accept first time travelers
* Experience with various specialized procedures as listed in job details
