Employment Terms:
This is a full-time, permanent role.

Work Conditions:
Day, Morning, Evening, Rotational Shift Work

Travel Requirements:
Travel will be necessary to various sites throughout Canada.

Language Proficiency:
Must be proficient in English, both written and spoken.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the execution of all TBM mechanical operations, including assembly, start-up, maintenance, and disassembly.

Ensure compliance with method statements and specifications provided by the TBM supplier for all mechanical tasks.

Guarantee that all TBM mechanical activities adhere to safety, environmental regulations, and project quality standards.

Prepare and manage documentation related to TBM maintenance.

Supervise a team of TBM mechanics and manage spare parts inventory.

Collaborate constructively with other departments.

Support troubleshooting and preventive maintenance efforts.

Organize and plan future mechanical operations.

Conduct daily inspections of equipment and submit maintenance reports.

Coordinate with the TBM Electrical team for ongoing and future tasks.

Ensure Method Statements and Risk Assessments are established for current and upcoming mechanical operations.

Audit the plant to maintain optimal performance in line with Canadian Standards.

Facilitate effective shift handovers.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
Trade or Qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering.
2-3 years of experience in civil or tunneling construction, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management.
Experience in TBM projects and major infrastructure operations of similar scale.
Knowledge of Safety, Community, and Environmental Management.
Experience in Quality Management and Planning & Resourcing.
Familiarity with TBM, slurry pumps, and tunnel-related equipment.
Understanding of civil construction materials and local WHS standards.
Ability to lead a team and collaborate with safety and other departments to uphold project safety standards.
Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in computer applications and Microsoft software.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Mechanical or Electrical Trade background.
Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Valid Driving License.
Compensation and Benefits:
$53 per hour, with additional shift premiums for shift workers. Membership in Labourers International Union of North America, Local 183, is required. Members receive Vacation & Statutory Holiday Pay, Health & Welfare Benefits, Pension, etc., totaling a wage package of $76.55 per hour (excluding Supervisor Premium).
Working Environment:
Primary work location with travel required throughout Ontario. Exposure to construction site environments in all seasons. Relocation within Canada may be necessary, with costs covered by the employer.
