We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Appraiser to join our team. As a key member of our right of way team, you will be responsible for performing advanced activities in property appraisal, negotiation, relocation, mediation, condemnation, and realty asset management.
Responsibilities:- Prepare appraisal reports for acquisitions and sales/leases of excess land.
- Search for comparable sales data, view comparable properties, and verify selling prices and relevant aspects of sales with buyers, sellers, or realtors.
- Conduct preliminary reviews of prospective projects to estimate acquisition costs.
- Serve as a project core team member to provide right of way insight related to projects.
- Review appraisals prepared by others, including fee appraisers, and explain appraisals to staff handling negotiations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- General State Appraisal Certification.
- Two years of experience in real estate.
- Occasional statewide, overnight travel may be required.
- Work may be performed outside of normal working hours.
