Job Summary

This role demands an exceptional leader who can inspire a team of creative visionaries to push the limits of immersive design. As VP, Experience Design at Cosm, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for crafting engaging digital experiences across various platforms and venues.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of talented designers to conceptualize, design, and execute Cosm's immersive entertainment experiences.
  2. Collaborate with creative leadership to elevate the team's output and establish a high standard for creative excellence.
  3. Forge strategic partnerships with technology vendors, content creators, and industry stakeholders to explore new opportunities and drive business growth.
  4. Partner with Venues, Content, and Marketing teams to understand guest needs and translate them into prioritized creative features.
  5. Stay up-to-date with the latest Unreal Engine features, tools, and industry trends, integrating new techniques into the development process.
  6. Create high-quality real-time visual effects that meet Cosm's artistic vision while adhering to performance standards.
  7. Bridge the gap between art and technology by collaborating closely with artists, designers, and engineers.
  8. Identify and solve complex technical challenges related to real-time graphics, lighting, and shading.
  9. Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning to inspire excellence and drive results.
  10. Ensure Cosm's creative integrity and champion our design system and overall creative vision internally and externally.

Requirements:

  1. 15+ years of experience developing innovative consumer-facing experiential concepts across digital platforms and physical venues.
  2. 10+ years of experience successfully leading and managing large multi-disciplinary design teams as a manager of managers.
  3. Proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing immersive design experiences and overall creative execution.
  4. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and influence cross-functional teams.
  5. Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with artists, designers, and engineers.
  6. Advanced proficiency in Unreal Engine, with experience in shaders, materials, lighting, and visual effects.
  7. Advanced proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and additional 3D engines).
  8. Reliable decision-making capabilities based on a solid understanding of how to balance creative expression, executable designs, and business needs.
  9. Ability to seed and generate a larger sustainable holistic vision across platforms, locations, and various competing initiatives.
  10. Experience developing interactive or immersive digital sports experiences a plus.

The estimated annual salary range for this position in California is $214,800 to $290,000. The base salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience.
