About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in Tucson, Arizona. As a key member of our transportation group, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of highway and roadway systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members on transportation design projects.
  • Develop and implement design procedures to ensure high-quality and cost-effective work.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables and provide input on engineering budget and schedule.
  • Initiate and create project designs and drawings/plans for transportation and/or civil design projects.
  • Perform detailed design, including preparation of complete calculation packages and development of details.
  • Guide drafting team for preparation of drawings from early stages of the design to the final contract plans.
  • Oversee the work of less experienced designers and ensure quality control and review of design calculations and drawings.
  • Meet with clients to ensure client needs are met and provide input to the development of technical approach in projects.
Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and at least 6 years of related experience. A Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within the first year of employment is preferred. Experience with design software, including MicroStation and OpenRoads, and familiarity with MS Office software are also required.

Additional qualifications include experience designing highway/roadway systems, experience with Design-Build (DB) and/or General Engineering Consultant (GEC), and previous design experience on transportation projects.
