Job Summary

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at CAMC Health System, you will play a critical role in providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients. Your expertise in administering radio nuclides and retrieving data will be essential in helping our medical team make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, ensuring their quality and purity.
  • Operate and maintain Nuclear Medicine instrumentation, including scintillation detectors and gamma cameras.
  • Perform radioimmunoassays and imaging procedures as requested by physicians.
  • Administer non-radioactive pharmaceuticals in preparation for or support of nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Enhance and quantitate data collected using dedicated computers.
  • Work with and assist in the training of students.
  • Follow strict precautions when handling isotopes to safeguard against radiation exposure.
  • Perform aseptic technique to gain intravenous access for injection of radioactive and non-radioactive medications.

The ideal candidate will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment, or care. This includes the ability to obtain and interpret patient information, knowledge of growth and development, and understanding of the range of treatment needed by patients.

Education

  • Associate's Degree (Required)
Credentials

  • Am Reg Of Rad Tech Nuc Med (Required) Or Nuc Med Tech, Cert Or Nuc Med Tech, Cert
  • Nuclear Med Tech, Cert (Required) Or ARRT-N Or ARRT-N
  • Radiologic Technologist, Licen (Required)
  • Basic Life Support (Required) Within 30 days of hire
  • Nuclear Pharm Tech, State Cert (Required) within 19 months of hire
  • Nuclear Pharm Tech Trainee (Required) within 60 days of hire
