Work Schedule: 7 x 9 hour shifts: (Wednesday to Tuesday; 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) 7 days on and 7 days off.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
  • Conduct routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Exhibit sound judgment in making technical decisions regarding testing and problem resolution.
  • Prepare, evaluate, and test new reagents or controls.
  • Deliver accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control measures.
  • Identify and restock testing supplies as needed.
  • Assist with specimen processing when required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements.
  • Prior experience in clinical laboratory testing is highly preferred.
  • Possession of any specific state license if applicable.
  • ASCP or AMT certification is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in computer usage; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screening.
  • Willingness to work overtime or adjust shifts based on business needs.
