We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Trauma APP to join our dynamic trauma team at HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest. As a Trauma Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients suffering from traumatic injuries in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and procedural skills in trauma care, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations. This position involves working closely with trauma surgeons, emergency medicine teams, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Assist in the management of patients with acute traumatic injuries in both emergency and inpatient settings, conduct thorough assessments, develop treatment plans, and perform necessary medical procedures under the supervision of a trauma surgeon.
  • Surgical Assistance: Provide intraoperative support during trauma surgeries, including preoperative preparation, assisting during surgery, and postoperative care.
  • Emergency Response: Participate in trauma resuscitation and emergency interventions as needed, ensuring timely and effective treatment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including progress notes, discharge summaries, and operative reports.
  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Quality Improvement: Engage in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and optimizing trauma care protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree from an accredited Physician Associate program.
  • Certification: Board Certification and current Texas license or eligibility to obtain.
  • Experience: Previous experience in trauma, emergency medicine, or surgery preferred.
  • Skills: Strong clinical and procedural skills in trauma care, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations, and strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
