Position Overview:

The MRI Imaging Specialist plays a crucial role in the healthcare setting by utilizing advanced magnetic resonance imaging technology to produce high-quality diagnostic images as directed by physicians. This position requires a commitment to patient care and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct MRI scans of various body parts, including the brain, spine, and extremities, while adjusting scanning parameters to accommodate diverse patient needs.
  • Optimize imaging quality by selecting and modifying technical factors, employing advanced imaging techniques.
  • Prepare and operate MRI equipment, ensuring patient positioning is accurate for optimal image capture.
  • Identify and document any significant findings during scans, adjusting parameters as necessary to enhance diagnostic information.
  • Perform specialized imaging studies, including Diffusion studies and MR Angiograms, while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Maintain meticulous records of imaging procedures and patient data, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Conduct quality control checks on equipment and procedures, documenting any issues and coordinating necessary maintenance.
  • Administer IV contrast agents as required, monitoring patients for any adverse reactions.
  • Engage in comprehensive patient screening prior to MRI procedures, ensuring safety and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to review images for technical accuracy and communicate critical information regarding patient care.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • Registered with the ARRT or equivalent certification as required by state regulations.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in MRI technology is preferred.
  • Proficient in maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Basic computer skills are essential.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
