Role Overview

The Design Assurance Engineer Intern will provide essential support in design qualification and engineering throughout the product development and manufacturing process. This role will act as the primary contact for the project team and clients regarding safety regulations and compliance with quality systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Plexus' Standard Operating Procedures and relevant ISO standards, including FDA Quality System Regulations and medical device standards.
  • Oversee the development and assembly of prototypes by creating and reviewing product documentation according to quality and change management protocols.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Plexus quality system.
  • Utilize lab equipment and debugging techniques to confirm that electro-mechanical products meet design specifications.
  • Establish necessary specifications to adhere to regulatory requirements for target markets and ensure proper documentation.
  • Lead the creation of the Product Risk Management Plan and conduct Design Failure Modes and Effects Analyses as required.
  • Engage in all Design Verification testing activities, including the creation of Verification Plans, Procedures, Traceability Matrices, and Reports.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Software Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Students at the Sophomore or Junior level.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
