Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Database Architect to lead our team in delivering high-availability and scalable database solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex database systems.

Estimated Salary

$65 per hour based on 6 months plus contract duration in Southlake, TX.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in database architecture and engineering, with expertise in Oracle and Couchbase/document databases. A strong understanding of replication and high-availability technologies is essential, as well as knowledge of Git, Linux operating systems, and automation techniques such as Shell, Python, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Terraform.

You will work closely with leaders across the Sabre organization, engineering, and operations teams to design end-to-end database solutions, ensuring stability, high availability, and performance SLAs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review current solutions and provide guidance as required for assigned projects.
  2. Identify best practices and standards for the team to follow.
  3. Attend agile calls daily and identify migration strategies and solutions as required.
  4. Decompose solutions into Agile stories and timelines, ensuring stability and high availability for all projects and solutions.
  5. Track and manage the complete request management life cycle using ITSM tools (SNOW/Rally).
  6. Create documentation and update knowledge repositories for solutions, standards, and training.
  7. Support and guide on incidents affecting assigned projects.
  8. Work with system owners, appDBAs, and other stakeholders to review proposed solutions and recommendations.
  9. Cease capacity planning as required for migration strategies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • At least 10 years of experience in database architecture and engineering.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Oracle and Couchbase/document databases.
  • A strong understanding of replication and high-availability technologies.
  • Knowledge of Git, Linux operating systems, and automation techniques.
  • Architecture design skills to design end-to-end database solutions.
