Job Summary

The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our organization. This position is responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks, from analyzing financial data to preparing reports that inform strategic decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough analysis, reconciliation, and review of accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Finance to prepare comprehensive monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts. This includes monitoring daily performance, analyzing operating results, and providing recommendations to optimize profitability.
  • Maintain and update accounting records and files with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Categorize transactions accurately in the general ledger, ensuring proper classification by assets, liabilities, and expenses.
  • Reconcile bank statements to verify accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
  • Execute month-end and year-end closing procedures with precision and efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed documentation for audits, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GAAP, SOX).
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and internal controls within the finance department.
  • Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
  • Stay informed about tax policies and manage tax payments and returns effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel (Intermediate to Advanced), is mandatory.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for effective collaboration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are paramount.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities is highly valued.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with financial/accounting software, specifically SAP S/4HANA, is a significant advantage.
  • Public accounting experience is highly desirable.
  • General knowledge of financial analytics and dashboards is beneficial.
  • A CPA designation is a strong asset.
