Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Hamilton Community Schools. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our schools and buildings.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on building exteriors, including roofs, walls, and windows.
  • Repair and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Install and repair electrical systems, including lighting, outlets, and wiring.
  • Perform carpentry tasks, including construction, repair, and installation of doors, windows, and other building components.
  • Assist in set up or moving for school, athletic, or community events.
  • Follow safety procedures and correct unsafe conditions for students and staff.
  • Maintain and monitor sewage lagoons.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance and Grounds Supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college or trade school classes preferred.
  • Five years of proven experience in general facility maintenance preferred.
  • One or more licenses in electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trade preferred.
  • Desired certifications/licenses: pool operator, water operator, pesticide applicator, boiler operator, 16-hour O&M Asbestos training.
  • Ability to read blueprint reading and schematic interpretation skills.
  • Ability to communicate in both written and spoken English language.
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively independently and with others to achieve assigned tasks and projects.
