Job Summary

As a key member of the St. Bernards Medical Center team, the Ultrasound Technologist will perform cardiac and peripheral vascular ultrasound procedures under the direction of a physician trained in ultrasound and the department manager. This role requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to deliver high-quality patient care.

Job Requirements

Education:
Must be registry eligible, with acceptance letter received and presented to the supervisor. The American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) criteria will be followed.

Experience:
Must meet the requirements of ARDMS or CCI to obtain registry eligible status, typically 2 years of experience or a graduate from an accredited school of technology.

Physical Demands:
Normal work environment with close visual acuity to distinguish color changes and ability to see in dark environments. Hearing of normal and soft tones is required. Exposure to mechanical hazards is present. The role involves operating ultrasound equipment, computer, treadmills, telephone, oxygen, wheelchairs, IV poles, and blood pressure equipment. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping are necessary. Lifting, carrying up to 20 lbs, and pushing or pulling up to 200 lbs are also required.
