Terra Engineering Ltd is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing various structures, with a focus on bridges and transportation-related infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop cost estimates, plans, and technical specifications for diverse structure types, with an emphasis on bridges and other transportation-related structures.
  • Inspect in-service bridges, retaining walls, and other structures, and provide repair recommendations as needed.
  • Plan and prepare detailed calculations for the design of new structures, as well as load rating calculations for existing structures.
  • Collaborate with other engineers on larger projects and manage individual design tasks on smaller projects.
  • Review documents for compliance with client standards.
  • Ensure client expectations are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering or related fields.
  • A PE or EIT working towards a PE.
  • Zero to four years of civil engineering experience, with an emphasis on structures/bridges.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Revit, and MicroStation (experience with Illinois DOT and Tollway standards highly preferred).
  • Structural design and analysis software experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively handle multiple projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce quality work within established timelines and budgets.
