Job Title: Senior Power Electronics Engineer - Customer Terminal

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in pioneering new product development for our Kuiper Customer Terminal products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and optimize DC/DC and AC/DC power electronics systems for our advanced phased array antenna customer terminals.
  • Lead a team of engineers in deep dive efforts to root cause power noise related system effects.
  • Leverage expertise in various AC/DC & DC/DC topologies to optimize system performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Address EMI/EMC challenges in power circuits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop efficiency and cost models for power electronics designs, exploring different topologies to enhance product line performance.
  • Generate test plans and procedures, supporting flow-down requirement definitions, and oversee design verification activities.
  • Lead schematic capture and PCB layout design, ensuring robustness and manufacturability.
  • Conduct board bring-up, executing test campaigns, and proposing effective solutions to design issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus in Power Electronics and experience in the consumer electronics industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in power electronics design, particularly in DC/DC and AC/DC power conversion.
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware development across full product life cycles – concept to production.
  • 5+ years of experience in power integrity design and analysis.
  • Experience with measurement, troubleshooting, and debug skills in a lab environment.
  • Experience in schematic capture tools and PCB layout design, with experience in leading design reviews.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus in Power Electronics and experience in the consumer electronics industry.
  • 7+ years of experience in power electronics design, particularly in DC/DC and AC/DC power conversion.
  • 7+ years of experience in hardware development across full product life cycles – concept to production.
  • 7+ years of experience in power integrity design and analysis.
  • Experience with measurement, troubleshooting, and debug skills in a lab environment.
  • Experience in schematic capture tools and PCB layout design, with experience in leading design reviews.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $128,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,600/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
