About the Role

Pace Center for Girls is seeking a dedicated and passionate Mathematics Educator to join our team. As a Mathematics Educator, you will play a vital role in transforming the lives of girls through academic and counseling programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum and Instruction
    • Design and align instruction according to state standards
    • Use formal and informal assessment to monitor progress and plan instruction to meet girls' individual needs
    • Plan for effective classroom instruction by utilizing innovative, appropriate, and differentiated instructional techniques and strategies
    • Create a safe and trusting classroom environment that is gender responsive, trauma informed, and strength-based
    • Maintain appropriate standards of behavior to support an environment that is conducive for learning
  • Progress Monitoring and Outcomes Measurement
    • Develop, monitor, and update Performance Monitoring Plan learning goals, standards, and expectations in collaboration with the girls
    • Promote confidence, perseverance, and responsibility in the students for their achievement of personal academic goals
    • Be knowledgeable about state of Florida graduation requirements and promote college readiness
    • Utilize data to assess girls' progress and academic growth, and document girls' progress into Pace
    • Impact student, center, and school district goals
  • Other
    • Adhere to the Pace Center for Girls Values and Guiding Principles and uphold the ethical standards of the Agency
    • Follow mission, values, and principles, policies, and procedures of the Pace Center for Girls
    • Be available to work evenings and weekends as required to fulfill workload requirements
    • Be able to travel by automobile, plane, train, etc.; occasional overnight travel
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Must be certified 6-12th in the appropriate content area (or in the process of certification) to teach in Florida
  • Attain and/or maintain certifications and endorsements by required deadline
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • Knowledge of subject area
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum one-year teaching experience
  • Experience teaching in an at-risk youth environment
  • Education degree
Work Environment

The work environment characteristics can be stressful, is fast-paced, and requires alertness and flexibility. The noise level is usually quiet; however, noise can accelerate to moderate and high levels.
