KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains confidentiality concerning sensitive information
  • Performs daily cleaning of rooms, kitchens, hallways, and carpeted areas
  • Disinfects bathrooms daily and restocks supplies as needed
  • Removes waste from offices and dining areas on a daily basis
  • Conducts thorough cleaning on a weekly, monthly, and seasonal basis as required
  • Assists in the setup and breakdown for meetings and special events
  • Regularly disinfects high-touch surfaces such as door handles, telephones, and trash bins
  • Maintains cleanliness of exterior entrances and walkways
  • Implements universal precautions in all cleaning practices
  • Safeguards issued keys, secures buildings, and manages lighting and thermostat settings
  • Exhibits professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits
  • Maintains a work schedule that optimizes availability for staff support
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborates with colleagues to enhance the workplace environment
  • Responds to emergency cleaning and repair needs as they arise
  • Conducts routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs
  • Oversees and evaluates the work of external contractors
  • Communicates maintenance and repair concerns to the appropriate personnel
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Understanding of the fundamental teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in critical thinking and strategic planning
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Availability to work some evenings and weekends
  • Ability to manage moderate to high levels of stress
  • Commitment to working a full school day
  • Work performed in standard conditions
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Capability to lift or carry furniture, equipment, and supplies
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in all situations
  • Engagement in physical activities such as walking, bending, and reaching
  • Daily requirements to hear, see, and communicate effectively
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying climate conditions
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  2. Previous experience in custodial work or building maintenance is advantageous but not mandatory
