We are seeking experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurses (RNs) for an immediate travel nurse opening in Lima, Ohio. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in acute care with at least 3 years of recent experience.
About the Role:This opportunity is for a Travel Nurse to provide high-quality patient care and support for women before, during, and after delivery in a fast-paced labor and delivery environment. As an L&D RN, you will be responsible for ensuring the medical and emotional needs of patients are met throughout the birthing process. This includes assisting physicians with epidurals, pain medication administration, episiotomies, and preparing patients for cesarean deliveries.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Monitor patients throughout labor and assist with breathing techniques
- Check cervix periodically to monitor progression and dilation
- Ensure beds are kept clean and dry, and perform cleanup of bodily fluids before and after the birthing process
- Aid physicians with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, and other tasks as needed
- Provide immediate care to newborns
- Active ACLS, BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications
- At least 3 years of recent experience in acute care
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty
- Capacity to easily lift 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong stress management skills and ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
The estimated salary for this position is $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Please note that additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.
