Position Details
  • Title: Exercise Physiologist - Cardiac Rehabilitation
  • Location: Alpena, MI
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks with potential for extension
  • Work Schedule: Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • Weekly Commitment: Guaranteed 40 hours
  • Weekend Duties: Participation in weekend rotations as required

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee stress testing under the guidance of the Cardiopulmonary Director, ensuring compliance with staffing protocols.
  • Execute additional tasks as directed by the leadership, adhering to the Exercise Specialist's scope of practice.
  • Conduct treadmill exercise stress tests, nuclear stress tests, and exercise stress echocardiograms with minimal oversight.
  • Independently evaluate and supervise patients during Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation sessions.
  • Effectively communicate critical test results to the relevant medical professionals.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or a related discipline - Required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience - Required
  • ACSM-CEP (American College of Sports Medicine Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist) certification - Required
  • Experience in stress lab testing - Required
  • Familiarity with isokinetic testing and functional capacity evaluations is preferred.

Licenses & Certifications
  • ACSM-CEP certification - Required
  • BLS & ACLS certifications from AHA - Required
  • State of Michigan License - Required
