Job Overview
The Customer Engagement Representative is responsible for delivering exceptional service to customers while efficiently managing transactions at the point of sale. This role involves a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver friendly and effective customer service during check-out, exchanges, and returns.
- Utilize point of sale systems to ensure transaction accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide customers with relevant information regarding products and store promotions.
- Maintain a clean and organized front-end area to create a welcoming shopping environment.
- Process customer transactions, including purchases, exchanges, and returns, using cash registers and other point of sale equipment.
- Welcome customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries.
- Identify and act on opportunities to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Answer phone calls from customers with professionalism and courtesy.
- Monitor store entrances and exits to ensure safety and security.
- Assist with product displays and merchandising as needed.
- Perform regular cleaning and maintenance tasks to uphold store standards.
- Support team members with various tasks to ensure operational efficiency.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: A minimum of 6 months in a retail environment with a focus on customer service is preferred.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate business needs.
This position primarily takes place indoors in a climate-controlled setting, with occasional outdoor tasks when assisting customers or retrieving merchandise.
- Potential exposure to varying temperatures, wet surfaces, and cleaning chemicals.
- Noise levels may vary, with hearing protection available as needed.
Work schedules may vary based on operational requirements, including the possibility of extended hours.
Timeliness and reliability in reporting to work, even in adverse weather conditions, are essential.
Physical Requirements- Continuously engage in bending, stooping, repetitive hand movements, reaching, standing, and walking for extended periods, as well as lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently perform climbing, crouching, stacking, and sweeping tasks, with the ability to lift and carry items weighing between 50-80 pounds.
- Occasionally balance, kneel, and perform shoveling tasks as required.
Effective communication with co-workers and customers regarding operations and safety is necessary. Specific vision abilities are required for this position.
Tools & EquipmentUtilize point of sale technology, including cash registers, hand-held scanners, credit/debit card terminals, telephones, and computers, as necessary for job functions.
