Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality physical therapy treatment to patients, either through referral or direct to consumer. Your primary goal will be to evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, assess patients, and monitor progress toward treatment goals. You will also be responsible for ensuring patient needs are met through access to care, patient experience, and quality of care metrics. Additionally, you will assist in program development and enhancement to meet patient and community needs.

Responsibilities:

Evaluates patients to determine the need for physical therapy treatment

Develops and implements treatment plans to meet patient goals

Assesses patient progress and makes recommendations for treatment plan changes as needed

Maintains accurate and detailed patient records according to documentation standards, policies, and procedures

Attains established productivity levels set forth by administration, including but not limited to access to care, patient experience, and quality

Assists in program development and enhancement to meet patient and community needs

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in physical therapy

Current physical therapy license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity from another state

Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process

Strong interpersonal skills

Ability to remain flexible with fluctuating schedules based on patient demand

Work Environment:

This position requires working in a patient care area, working in an area where patients enter, working directly with patients, and/or working with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
