Position OverviewAs a Shop Foreman, you will play a critical role in leading our manufacturing team to achieve exceptional results. You will be responsible for overseeing the operation of CNC machines and controls, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and precision.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of manufacturing employees to achieve production goals and objectives
- Coordinating the work of shop employees and department managers to ensure efficient production processes
- Developing and implementing training programs to improve employee skills and knowledge
- Inspecting work products to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards
- Managing departmental expenses and accounts to ensure compliance with budget guidelines
- Overseeing the presetting process to maximize equipment utilization
- Monitoring workload and schedules to ensure timely deliveries and high-quality products
- Interfacing with the company's ERP system to manage production data and reports
- Defining training, machinery, tooling, and process needs for the department
- Supporting lean process improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and productivity
- Maintaining accurate production history for customer requirements
- Meeting department and personal expectations for productivity, quality, and continuous improvement

- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, department managers, and other stakeholders
- Good attendance and punctuality, with the ability to work regular hours and adapt to changing priorities
- Previous experience as a lead or supervisor, or other leadership role in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of tooling, fixtures, materials, and processes, with the ability to apply this knowledge to improve production efficiency and quality
- Competence in the operation and performance of multiple machine tools, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Computer skills, with the ability to use software applications and systems to manage production data and reports
- Ability to inspect machined parts using a variety of inspection equipment, with the ability to identify and report defects or quality issues
- Good mathematical and print reading skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, with the ability to make decisions and take initiative in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
To be considered for this role, you will need to possess the following education, skills, and experience:
- Five to ten years' experience in the manufacturing industry, with knowledge of speeds and feeds and two years of lead or other leadership experience
- Leadership experience, with a proven track record of achieving production goals and objectives
- Experience with MS applications, with the ability to use software to manage production data and reports
- Strong skills and aptitude in math, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

A large percentage of work time is spent in a machine shop where temperatures vary from hot to cold. The environment may also include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vapor from coolant, etc. Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.
