As an Environmental Air Quality Specialist, you will collaborate with project managers and senior personnel to assist clients across various sectors, including manufacturing, energy, natural gas, mining, and waste management, in securing air quality permits, enhancing their operations, and adhering to ongoing regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Your role will encompass both fieldwork and office tasks. Field responsibilities may involve:
- Conducting meteorological assessments
- Performing ambient air quality evaluations
- Executing real-time measurements of pollutant levels
- Assessing visible emissions from various sources
Fieldwork is estimated to comprise 10-25% of your duties.
In the office, you will need to demonstrate strong analytical abilities and effective communication skills to:
- Analyze data and perform necessary calculations
- Understand environmental regulations
- Complete regulatory documentation
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
- A B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Meteorology, or a related discipline
- Experience in air quality permitting and compliance is preferred but not mandatory
- Familiarity with emission inventory calculations and air permit applications is advantageous
- 0-5 years of experience in consulting, compliance, or industry settings
- Knowledge of state and federal air quality regulations
- Understanding of New Source Review processes
- Ability to effectively communicate with technical specialists, clients, and regulatory bodies
- Capability to manage multiple tasks while meeting scope, budget, and schedule expectations
