Job Overview:

About the Role:

This position involves designing and modeling machine components and process systems in SolidWorks to support order processing and new product development projects. You will execute customer orders, configure equipment based on requirements, and analyze, develop, and test designed equipment to meet specified customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Modeling: Create accurate designs and models of machine components and process systems in SolidWorks.
  • Customer Order Execution: Execute customer orders, configuring equipment according to their specifications.
  • Equipment Analysis and Development: Analyze, develop, and test designed equipment to ensure it meets customer requirements.
  • Component Selection: Select components, assemblies, and materials based on technical information from customer requirements and vendor offerings.
  • Interface with ERP and CRM Systems: Interface with both ERP and CRM systems to execute activities and close out orders.
  • Design Review and Collaboration: Prepare, review, collaborate with Manufacturing and Sales teams on designs and detailed drawings.
  • Bills of Material: Generate and release full bills of material for manufacturing.
  • Engineering Change Requests: Support the Engineering Change Request and Change Order process.
  • Non-Conformance Identification: Identify non-conformances and root causes to initiate and implement solutions.
  • Tech Skills: Utilize proprietary sizing program software as well as other engineering skills and knowledge to assure that Hydro-Thermal heaters, valves, and systems meet design criterion and operating conditions.
  • Labor Estimates: Provide labor estimates for mechanical design activities.
  • Sales Support: Support the Sales Team with technical information and discussions where required.
  • Training and Demonstration: Train and demonstrate equipment to internal and external customers and technical support staff.

Qualifications:

  • CAD Proficiency: Proficiency with engineering CAD software (Solidworks, Inventor, AutoCAD, etc).

Desired Experience:

  • Mechanical Design Experience: 2-5 years of direct mechanical design related experience (food & beverage products or process piping systems preferred).
  • Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing and Assembly Process: Familiar with design for manufacturing and assembly process.
  • Piping and Instrumentation Drawings: Demonstrate ability to read and interpret piping and instrumentation drawings.
  • Process Control Mechanisms: Experience with process control mechanisms (pumps, valves, etc) and instrumentation preferred.
  • Customer Specifications: Experience interpreting customer specifications for engineered-to-order projects.

Education:

  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Design: Minimum of an Associate Degree in mechanical design (or equivalent qualified experience).

Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
