Job Summary

Midway Products Group is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the Quality Manager in their absence on current production concerns.
  • Conduct and facilitate problem-solving activities, including customer plant visits, 8-D reports, supplier concern audits, and SPC analysis.
  • Interface with plant, engineering, customer, supplier, and production personnel to enhance the introduction of new parts into production.
  • Handle and track sample submissions as needed, including writing and updating control plans, FMEA's, inspection check sheets, reports, etc.
  • Coordinate prototype documentation, tagging, and shipment.
  • Conduct new employee quality orientation as needed.
  • Have the authority to stop production operations concerning plant quality or safety issues.
  • Treat all other team members with respect and dignity.
  • Assist with internal EMS auditing and other areas as directed.
Requirements
  • Prefer a four-year college degree in engineering or a business-related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Must have a good understanding of advanced quality planning disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and environments.
  • Prefer four years of minimum experience in a quality position in the automotive industry.
  • ASQ Certification (CQM, CQE, or CQA) preferred.
  • Computer literate. Must be a self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Prefer Six Sigma Certification (green belt or higher).
Physical and Mental Requirements

The employee is required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, bend to the floor, exert 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or exert up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Visual acuity for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts. Hearing ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.

Working Conditions

Normally works in an office environment. Occasionally, the employee is subject to high noise levels from operating machines and physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
