Swim Instructor

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Instructor to join our team.

This is a part-time position that requires the ability to provide direct leadership, prepared instruction, and motivation for students in swimming classes. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to promoting water safety and aquatic education.

• Prepare and deliver swimming lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of students and align with YMCA guidelines.
• Provide a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
• Assist with maintaining accurate records of lesson attendance and skill progression.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians through session report cards.
• Meet performance measurements by promoting the Y's mission and values.

• 6 months or more of related experience (preferred).
• Ability to demonstrate basic swimming skills.
• Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
• Ability to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act).
