Fabrication and Inspection Expert

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Virtual GIBBS programming software to set up and execute fabrication tasks.
  • Select supplies appropriate to the task, including cutters and feeds.
  • Understand and apply G-Code principles.
  • Operate CNC Equipment to perform fabrication tasks as required.
  • Inspect first items and random items on jobs to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Use inspection tools, such as gauges and optical comparators, to inspect fabricated items in progress.
  • Troubleshoot and accurately diagnose complex problems.
  • Add programs to the library bank from GIBBS programs for later use.
  • Use Documentum to locate and review information.
  • Prioritize effectively and respond quickly to situations as needed.
  • Monitor multiple operations at one time to maintain efficiency.
  • Assist with on-the-job training of less experienced personnel.
  • Communicate and share information with group members to support their ability to work accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist in developing work procedures.
  • Provide guidance to work groups and others in solving complex issues or performing complex tasks.
  • Communicate with customers to understand needs and provide services.
  • Provide input to engineering regarding design and materials as requested.
  • Communicate with engineers to ensure the accuracy of work products.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in grinding skills, including procedures and wheel selections.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in running and programming all CNC Mills and Lathes in designated areas.
  • Understand how to operate and navigate computer programs and software.
  • Perform basic maintenance on equipment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and AAS or certification in Machine Tool Technology.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience on HAAS, DMG Mori Seki, or Doosan.
  • Virtual GIBBS programming software experience.

Preferred:

  • Coordinate Measuring Tools (CMM) certification.

Physical Effort/Activities:

May be required to walk up to 5+miles per day, be on feet for 8-10 hrs at a time, ability to bend, twist, push/pull, crouch, kneel in confined spaces, work at heights, on a ladder, and lift up to 50 pounds.
