College Counselor

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated College Counselor to join our team at The Academy Charter Schools. As a College Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing guidance and support to students in grades nine through twelve as they navigate the college application process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive college counseling program that meets the needs of assigned students
• Provide individualized guidance and support to students and their families throughout the college application process
• Collaborate with school counselors and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
• Build and maintain relationships with college admissions professionals and community-based organizations
• Stay up-to-date on changes in higher education and provide students with accurate and timely information

Requirements:

• 2-3 years' experience as a college counselor in a high school
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Master's degree in School Counseling from an accredited college or university preferred
• Valid New York State School Counselor preferred
