Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Technician to join our team at North East Fire & Safety. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing and repairing alarm wiring and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Installation: Install and program new fire alarm and security systems to ensure seamless functionality and compliance with industry standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with alarms and security systems, utilizing your technical expertise to identify and rectify problems efficiently.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks to our customers and provide effective solutions to mitigate these risks, ensuring their safety and security.
  • Maintenance: Conduct routine preventative maintenance on alarm systems to ensure optimal performance and extend their lifespan.
  • Central Station Monitoring: Familiarize yourself with central station monitoring hookup procedures to ensure seamless integration and communication.
  • Egress Light Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections and repairs of egress lights to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Fire Extinguisher Inspections: Perform regular inspections of fire extinguishers to ensure they are functioning correctly and safely.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in security installation, maintenance, or related fields is essential for this role.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with hand and power tools, as well as strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to handle a physically demanding workload, including lifting and carrying equipment.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail is crucial for ensuring accurate and efficient work.
  • CCTV or Card Access Experience: Experience with CCTV or card access systems is a plus, but not required.

Compensation will be based on experience and may differ from the above.
