Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our Department of Dentistry, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive oral care and dental hygiene services to our patients.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough dental screenings and provide personalized education to patients of all ages, including children and those with special needs.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans to prevent and manage oral health issues, working closely with our staff dentists and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide therapeutic hygiene services, including preventive and prophylactic care, periodontal scaling and root planing, and dietary counseling.
- Design and deliver oral health educational programs for patients, staff, and the community, promoting healthy habits and disease prevention.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain a collaborative work environment, communicating effectively with colleagues and patients to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution and a current Connecticut State License.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a clinical or general practice setting, with a focus on special needs patients.
- Basic Life Support Certification and ability to administer local anesthesia, as required by CT DPH standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
