Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team at Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for performing phlebotomy and other specialized specimen collection procedures for patients in both in-patient and out-patient settings.

• Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing
• Perform phlebotomy and other specialized specimen collection procedures
• Process, organize, label, and transport specimens for laboratory testing
• Input and extract data with the Laboratory Information System
• Provide patient care while performing duties
• Collaborate with the patient care team to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Serve as a preceptor to less experienced staff and students
• Perform clerical tasks as needed

• High School diploma or equivalent education
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience
• Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) or Phlebotomy Technician (ASCP) certification
• Strong interpersonal and team player skills
• Basic computer knowledge and ability to operate multiple computer systems
