Key Responsibilities:

  • Discovering and executing inventive solutions to tackle complex challenges within the Department of Defense (DoD).

  • Working closely with Legal and Intellectual Property Teams to safeguard and manage intellectual property rights related to innovation initiatives.
  • Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the success and impact of innovation projects, while providing regular updates and insights to senior management. Mentoring and supervising junior project staff members and collaborating with other Innovation Specialists.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • For candidates without a degree, four (4) additional years of experience are required.
  • For those holding an Associate's degree, two (2) additional years of experience are necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in designing and utilizing virtual reality or augmented reality (AR/VR), immersive simulation environments, high-performance computing (HPC), or Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) technologies in engineering contexts.
  • Background in advanced technology research, innovation management, technology scouting, and/or research and development, preferably in a technical or engineering-oriented sector.

Clearance Requirements:

  • This position necessitates an active TS/SCI clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain stationary for over 50% of the time.
  • Must be capable of communicating and exchanging information with colleagues and senior personnel.
  • Regularly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment.
  • Frequently interacts with co-workers, management, and clients, which may involve delivering presentations and exchanging accurate information.
  • Occasionally needs to move around the office to access files, office machinery, etc.

The anticipated compensation range for this role is $121,800-$204,100, influenced by factors such as relevant experience, skills, geographic location, education, and certifications.
