The City of Covington is seeking a Seasonal Laborer to assist in the maintenance of city-owned utilities, streets, parks, and facilities. This is a non-skilled position that requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license.

• Assist in the maintenance and repair of city-owned streets, parks, property, grounds, and facilities.
• Perform a wide variety of tasks, including manual labor, equipment operation, and material handling.
• Work under supervisory control and guidance of the Public Improvements Director and/or Division Supervisors.
• Review work for quality and timeliness of completed projects.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers, and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

The work environment is typically moderate to loud, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.
