Position Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the operational efficiency of our educational environment. Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position collaborates with school personnel and external service providers to ensure a clean and well-maintained facility.
Key Responsibilities
Custodial Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all school facilities, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and outdoor areas.
- Address requests from staff regarding maintenance and cleaning needs.
- Assist in cafeteria setup and cleanup during meal times.
- Monitor the performance of cleaning and landscaping services, reporting any issues for prompt resolution.
Maintenance Duties
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including changing light bulbs and addressing plumbing concerns.
- Assist in moving equipment and assembling furniture as required.
- Perform minor repairs on buildings and fixtures.
General Responsibilities
- Inspect facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and address them accordingly.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of cleaning methods, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.
- Fulfill additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Operations.
- Ensure compliance with the daily cleaning schedule while being adaptable to changing circumstances.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment effectively.
- Provide custodial support during staff absences.
Working Environment
This role involves both indoor and outdoor work, with exposure to various environmental conditions. Physical demands include lifting, carrying, and moving heavy objects, as well as frequent walking and standing.
